Animal Sounds

Lydia is learning her animal sounds so, naturally, we spend a lot of time saying the sounds out loud.

But what sound does a rabbit make?

I say "ribbit" almost every time.

Ra-bit
Ri-bit

It makes sense to me.

Isn't that a frog sound?

I say hop-hop, but they really don't make that sound either do they? Matthew doesn't care right now anyway. He's too busy making going "vmmmmm" with his car, and blowing on my cheek to make farting sounds!

Being a proud owner of a rabbit ie Miss Sara Bunbun, I know that rabbits make sounds. The most well known sound is the thumping. However, they will also grunt and chatter their teeth when extremely happy. However, I suggest the wiggle of the nose in place of a sound. Can Lydia wiggle her nose like a rabbit?

I also do the wiggle of the nose, along with the fish lips for the fish.

We wiggle our nose. Or, one book we have says a rabbit goes "crunch, crunch" on carrots. An idea anyway.

And, I agree with Melynie - you're making the sound of a frog right now. Stop that....you'll confuse the poor girl! :)
