The Blogger Trap

I don't intend to just post pictures. I really do like writing on my blog, but I don't know what to write anymore.

Here's my problem: As an English teacher, I would talk to students about writing to their audiences. I don't know how to write to my parents, old friends, great uncle, cousins, childhood friend's mom, strangers, grandmother, and best friends, and find something interesting to say to everyone-- or something that I'm willing to share with everyone.

So I'm stuck.

I can relate...I want to just speak my mind but I know that wouldn't go over well with some readers.

Blogs are different though then English assignments...it's really a journal you're willing to let others read. It's good to be aware of your audience but not inhibited by knowing they are reading, rather motivated knowing you have a platform to speak where you're free to speak your mind and they want to listen.

I have to say that while I don't LIKE your struggles as a mom, I appreciate when you write about them. It helps me glimpse into your REAL life and remember what's happening out there, so many miles away. Pictures are fun too :-) And the church sign post still has me chuckling!

You have a case of writer's block. I have heard that this happens to talented writers. I think that the daily grind and ins ands outs of live are very interesting and we all can relate on some level to someone else's struggles or joys. But don't underestimate your blog. I do like your pics....pics can tell a story too!
