A Recipe Request

I'm tired of my recipes, and I have a request-- please post (on your blog or on my comments page) one of your staple recipes. I have no interest in your favorite meal that you make twice a year for your family. Give me a practical recipe that you make for your family at least once a month. Here's one of mine:

Chicken Spaghetti

4 chicken breasts
4 stalks of celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 lb. spaghetti
1 can cr. of mushroom soup
2 cans Italian stewed tomatoes
12 oz. package of cheddar cheese

Cover chicken, celery, and onion with water and cook until tender. Shred chicken. Cook spaghetti in chicken broth. Put spaghetti, mushroom soup, undrained tomatoes, cheese, celery, onion, and chicken in 9 x 13 pan. Mix well. Top with 4 oz. shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.

Here's my favorite:
- one car (or a pair of legs)
- 1/2 gallon of gas (or some energy)
- $6.00

Use the car to go to Subway, the gas to power the car, and the $6 to order the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki on Italian Herbs & Cheese bread.

This one is sure to please!

Troy, you are too funny! I wish life were that easy. But add a few kids to the mix and that trip not only costs you a lot more, but is not worth the headache...getting everyone's shoes on, buckling then in the car, running back in to get what you need, pull out of the driveway only to pull right back in because you forgot their milk, driving to Subway listening to their requests, unbuckle them and ask them to stand "right here" until you get everyone out of the car, order with nothing but the chaos of making sure they are minding and not touching the chips, sit down to eat a not-so-peaceful meal, get everyone cleaned up, gather all your things including the sippy cup under the table, buckle them back in the car, go home. Then, an hour later hear, "I'm hungry, can I have a snack?" BUT, then you tuck them in that night and it's all worth kissing their sweet faces goodnight!!!

Enjoy the simple life! :)

dorothy lynch chicken
-1 jar apricot preserves
-1 bottle dorothy lynch salad dressing (a creamy thousand island will do)
-1 packet onion soup mix (dry)

mix together, pour over 6 boneless chicken breasts. cook 1 hour at 350. serve with rice. this sounds gross, i know, but my kids and hubby love it! =)

Hi Honey,
I will send you a recipe tomorrow. I am too sleepy to do it now.
Love, Grandma.
